Kindergarten Round-Up
Well, the time is finally here to realize my little guy is growing up fast. Too fast if you ask me (and my chiropractor). We've gone back and forth for several months about where he's going to go to school. We live out in the country, in one district, but I work in Topeka in another. With Bruce being a shift worker, I'm the one who would usually be dropping off, picking up, etc. The thought of Coop on a bus with all the big kids scares me because I know what those ding-dongs act like on the bus. Also, our district starts and ends an hour different than mine. So, the conclusion was reached that he's coming to school with me. It's weird, having grown up in a small town and walking to school each day, where everyone knew eachother and and if anything happened, there were neighbors and friends that could help. That's not the reality anymore, so to the big city he will go!
Friday I took off the whole day and we went to Round-Up. It's was a cowboy theme and contrary to my son's belief, was for all the kids attending, not just him. We talked him out of spurs, but did compromise that he could wear his boots. We walked in, met the teachers, and then I was physically PUSHED away with the sentence, "Go mom. Love you." HEART CRUSHER!!! :( He did great, knew one other kid and for the highlight of the day, GOT TO RIDE THE BUS!
